Fuse Gears Up for Lollapalooza
July 16, 2008 - Branding | Touring

By Kamau High, N.Y.

Fuse, the music channel in the midst of a re-branding campaign, has signed on as one of the sponsors of this year's Lollapalooza Festival.

The channel, similar to what it did for the recent Bonnaroo festival earlier this year, will broadcast festival related content before, during and after the three day event which begins on August 1 in Chicago. The run up to festival will see Lollapalooza themed editions of the music video show "Loaded" which will run blocks of videos by past and present headliners and "No. 1 Countdown: Lollapalooza Edition".

Steven Smith, host of "Steven's Untitled Rock Show" will deliver breaking news during the festival and starting August 4 Fuse will begin airing nightly highlights during the "No. 1 Countdown" show.

"Fuse is committed to bringing the biggest and best music events to television," said Eric Sherman, president, Fuse, in a statement. "Our presence at Lollapalooza is a great follow up to our coverage of Bonnaroo, and we're excited to be able to bring viewers an insider's look from the festival in Chicago."

The Cablevision owned channel began a re-branding effort from New York ad agency Brooklyn Brothers focused on the new tagline "Get Your Music On...Fuse" last month.
