By Mitchell Peters, L.A.

Live Nation has promoted several executives within its California offices, Billboard.biz has learned.

Rick Mueller, formerly president of San Francisco, has been elevated to the new position of president of California. In his new role, Mueller will relocate to Live Nation’s Los Angeles headquarters where he will oversee all operations in California, which includes more than 2,000 annual concerts and 15 owned or operated venues.

Additionally, Mueller will oversee Live Nation’s entire booking and marketing team in California, including Matt Prieshoff, Rich Best, Jodi Goodman, Emily Simonitsch, Michael Bailey, Greg Siegel, Robin Alexander, Brad Locker and Creighton Burke.

Lee Smith, who helped mentor Mueller, will continue to serve as chairman of Live Nation San Francisco.

After helping grow Live Nation’s business in Los Angeles for the past three years, Nick Masters has been promoted to chairman of Southern California. He previously served as president. Masters and Smith will work alongside Mueller to further develop Live Nation’s business strategy throughout California.

In addition, Brian Murphy has been named senior consultant. Murphy will continue to identify new venues and business opportunities for Live Nation in California.
